Paul Lynch

Paul Lynch

President

Paul is the President and co-founder of Mercury Vacuum Technologies.  He received his Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from Rutgers in 1978, and has post graduate work in Environmental Engineering at NJIT, and Business Finance from William Paterson University.

Paul has spent most of his career in vacuum engineering, with over 30 years’ experience in vacuum pump system design (liquid ring and dry types), steam ejectors, condensers and heat exchangers, and associated hardware.  He has done work in applications such as food processing, petrochemical, and pharmaceutical systems, with the majority of his experience being in the design of innovative systems for the power industry.  He has done presentations and papers on the design and application of hybrid ejector/liquid ring systems for the rigorous demands of condenser air extraction vacuum equipment for combined cycle power plants.

Prior to MVT, Paul was V.P. of Sales and Engineering for Unique Systems.  He was also Sales Manager for NItech Inc. for 14 years, and served as Sales Engineer for 5 years with Nash Engineering Company.

Paul has been involved with sales, design, project management, and manufacturing of many hundreds of steam ejector, liquid ring, and hybrid vacuum systems for power projects worldwide.  He has extensive in-plant experience with start-up and troubleshooting of vacuum systems, and has done independent consulting on the design and application of vacuum pump systems for industry A/E’s, OEM’s, and end users.

Alexander Sosa

Alexander J. Sosa

Vice President

As Vice President and co-founder of Mercury Vacuum Technologies Alex holds almost 20 years of process design, project management, and OEM equipment design experience.  Over this time he has demonstrated a proven technical track record in a wide range of industries including Pharmaceutical, Chemical, Petrochemical, and Power Generation.

Most recently, as Engineering Manager for Unique Systems, Alex spent the past 10 years dedicated specifically to vacuum engineering for the Power Industry.  During this tenure he was directly responsible for system design and manufacturing operations for Ejector Air Removal Systems, Liquid Ring Vacuum Pump Condenser Exhausters, Water Box Priming Systems, Condensate Pump Systems, Hybrid Air Removal Systems, and as well as other Power applications.  He was responsible for all vacuum system design programs and new product technology, technical submittals, as well as Engineering training programs, field services, start-up supervision, and operator training.

Prior to Unique Systems Alex’s experience included process design and equipment specifications for typical plant unit operations such cooling towers, high volume pumping systems, heat exchangers, and controls.  Early experience also included plant construction management and process equipment installation supervision.

Alex holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and he continues to be a dedicated member of the engineering community at large.  He has held office as Chair of the North Jersey Section of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) and as a past member of the Vacuum Technology section of the Heat Exchange Institute (HEI) has collaborated in writing the standard for vacuum systems in the Power Generation industry for over 10 years.
